From producer M. Night Shyamalan comes "The Watchers," written for the screen and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
You can't see them, but they see everything.
"The Watchers" stars Dakota Fanning ("Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," "Ocean's Eight"), Georgina Campbell ("Barbarian," "Suspicion"), Oliver Finnegan ("Creeped Out," "Outlander") and Olwen Fouere ("The Northman," "The Tourist"). The film is produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. The executive producers are Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.

I'm excited for this. Or at least intrigued. A few years ago I started appreciating M. Night movies more for what they are and I'm interested in seeing his daughter's take on this style of movie.

I was intrigued enough to read the book. Should make for a decent movie.

Wonder if Ishana Shyamalan will continue the twists like her father

Ha, that mirror shot at the start is obviously two people so that the camera can take the position of her body double. But their movements aren't in sync at all. I noticed it immediately.

Read the book late last year.
It wasn't my favourite horror of that year, but can definitely see it lending itself well to the screen.

Already in for the extended extended cinematic Shyamalan universe. Any references to the other movie in this trailer?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but this is an adaptation of a novel and not an original screenplay.

Dakota Fanning was in Ocean's Eight?
Goddamn, for all the talk about lack of originality in movies, horror fans are fucking eating better than anyone these last 10 years.

I'm reading the book right now and it's very good. I'd actually recommend not watching this trailer because it's very spoilerly. The original teaser is a much better sell in my opinion.

Yes sorry, I was referencing the trailer for M Night Shyamalan's new movie Trap, the trailer for which was released last week and featured a billboard ad for The Watchers (his daughter's movie)

I finished this book last night and while I think it was only "OK" I'm still looking forward to the movie. After watching the trailer again they are doing some new things that aren't in the book.

Did anyone go see this? Just got out of the theater and want to discuss it. Some reviewers hate it, but I enjoyed it in the end. It's not what the trailers make it out to be.

Such an infuriatingly boring watch, going from Servant to this was massive step back for Ishana

It's not that bad IMHO. One of those things you have to see for yourself. I expected to hate it, but walked away entertained. Worth seeing on a discount day.

I watched it last night. While Ishana has got some talent, and the cinematography was beautiful, this was one of the most boring and poorly written horror films that I've seen in a long time.
The dialogue is atrocious, and the twist was made pretty obvious before the halfway point of the film. That just made the rest of it feel kind of pointless while waiting for the rest of it to finally end. There was also some really bad CGI. However, I will give it points for having a few good moments of tension and suspense.

The reviews gonna make me skip this at the cinema. A shame, the premise seemed interesting but I guess that goes for most Shyamalan stuff where they have cool ideas.

We ended up liking it a lot. Certainly better than a 29%. Made me want to watch the Village again.

Same. I really don't get the hate. It's a fine movie, and the twists aren't that dumb.
Think some folks expected it to be more sci-fi. But magical creatures in the woods made more sense to me. Felt like a modern fairy tale.

I really hated this... it was equal parts predictable and equal parts completely insufferable. I found myself so bored about 30 minutes in (which is right when the move is supposed to get interesting!) I just started thinking about all the weird inconsistencies in the story. By the third act (when there's a very obvious reveal that happens) I just wanted the movie to end. The entire time I actually wished I was watching The Village instead.
